Hi, all. I was chatting with my own client, and he is trying to help someone he knows who is experiencing homelessness right now, unfortunately. The person is San Jose-based, college-educated, and I'm not sure of what his industry/skills are--but the bigger issue seems to be that he needs career guidance and a place with stable wi-fi to interview (I suggested the public library, which may be an option--but who knows with COVID). He may need guidance with his resume and possibly creating two--one for his own industry and one for just-need-a-job jobs.

Since neither my client nor I are local to San Jose, I was wondering if any of you know an organization or resource that could assist this person. I'd love to be able to pass on some options through my client.

Thanks!

I know an amazing lady in the San Jose area who you could reach out to. Her name is Charlotte Johnson. She's working for Equus Workforce Solutions in San Jose. She is on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/charlotte-m-johnson-7b34837. I wasn't able to locate the phone # for the San Jose location, but here's the number for their location in Escondido: (760) 871-1900. I'm sure they can get you in contact. If Charlotte can't help, she will be able to tell them where to go.

I am not familiar with San Jose but would be happy to offer pro bono assistance with his resume. Would he have access to wifi to email me and/or to meet virtually? Thanks. Stephanie

Is there an American Job Center nearby? They may offer space for the interview and Wi-Fi. Career guidance and resources are offered free of charge. My other suggestion is a public library.

I don't know anyone is San Jose, however, I agree that the library would be about the best option, if they're opened in his area.
