I am helping a former coaching client with a free resume review. She works in government and is doing a federal resume. She is a G 7 with a graduate degree and is targeting G 9 jobs. I have not worked with federal resumes before so I am enjoying the chance to get some exposure. My initial impression is that her resume is very task focused. Below is an example (needs some other edits for typos). My initial thought is to try and organize the tasks into a higher level processes and focus on how she coordinated/ facilitated, etc. Also working on reducing the redundant wording. I want to make sure my suggestions are consistent with federal resumes. Any tips or insights?

Federal resumes need to be task focused as well as have accomplishments. They are different than corporate resumes. Redundant wording can be ok.I have been writing federal resumes for 2 decades. Before I can comment further I would need to see both the resume and the job announcement. You must have the job announcement being applied for to review a federal resume.

Federal resumes generally specify that the applicant "prove" that they have the KSA's (knowledge, skills and abilities) to do the job. So, carefully read the requirements on the posting and make sure that the resume specifically addresses evidence of them. Some federal agencies (like the FBI) even have their own resume guides, so try googling "federal resume guides". Best of luck, James.
