I'm hoping to get some expert input on this question: How do you balance years of experience with age bias? I have a client saying she was told not to put 15+ or 20 years of experience unless the role specifically asks for that much; that she should only put the number of years mentioned in the job description (this is for a résumé and LinkedIn).
Focus on the value delivered during those years rather than the years themselves. The reader can do the "date math". If the value is positioned correctly, a person with 6 years of experience has just a good a chance to land an interview as someone with 12 years. Sell metrics, but not math.
